ASK Author: Mail by the Pail, by Colin Bergel

This is the first book written by Colin Bergel, a Great Lakes freighter captain. Students have enjoyed learning that even an author has to re-write his works several times. The book is a delightful tale of how the men and women working on Great Lake freighters get their mail from a small boat named the Westcott II. Students will learn a lot about shipping and life on Great Lakes freighters.
