Gentle White Flower

Last night winter dusted the earth
fine feather white powder
blankets the ugly brown
A gentle white flower
nods in the breeze
its pure heart
is open to the harsh winds that blow.

Chorus
A gentle white flower
it keeps its heart open
though crushed by footfalls
it rises again
gently giving and taking.

Last night winter blew into mylife.
A cold harsh blow
wounded my aching heart
Cold sharp arrows
pierced my soul
my heart
is open to the harsh winds that blow.
